Peter Foote needs our prayersPosted by Mark Gleeson at Owasippe Scout Reservation FriendsHello everyone, many of you have worked with Peter Foote at OSR throughout the years, so I believed it was important to update you on his current situation.Good morning, everyone! I received an update from Anna, Peter Foote's wife, on Wednesday, April 24th. She asked if we could all pray for Peter as he had a stroke and was found on the kitchen floor when he came home from work. He has been transferred to U of I hospital from Little Co. because they have a special scan that will determine his treatment. Thank you for keeping him in your prayers. Peter's Thursday morning update on April 25th:They have inserted a bolt and he has had 2 more CT scans since last night. He is currently sedated. The bolt allows the medical staff to monitor any swelling and brain activity. The greatest risk of swelling is now until Sunday, so please continue to pray that it goes down. Update on Tuesday, April 30th:They are still working on balancing Peter's blood thinners today, along with light sedation and seizure medication. They are removing the bolt and replacing it with a different type of monitor/shunt. There are no significant signs of brain activity, but that could be due to the medication. He also has a bit of pneumonia, so they are treating him for that and proactively treating him for MRSA. Update from Anna on Wednesday morning, May 1st:Peter still hasn't woken up and is running a fever. It's unclear if the fever is due to pneumonia or an infection from the brain surgeries. The MRI got delayed because they forgot to call Anna last night for the serial number of his back stimulator.Update from Wednesday afternoon:The nurse stopped by and informed Anna that Peter is doing well. He is now doing most of the breathing on his own, which is a positive sign. The nurse is still unsure when the MRI will take place. She also mentioned that she has noticed a little flutter of the eyes during her checks, which is encouraging. It's also easy to remember her name since it's Anna too.Pete's family could really use your prayers... ... See MoreSee Less
